Miranda Lambert took a look back at one of the earliest awards in her career.

Lambert relived the moment fellow country star Carrie Underwood revealed her as the winner of the Academy of Country Music Top Female Vocalist at the 42nd ACM Awards in 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lambert went on to become the most awarded artist in ACM history, according to the Academy.

“Well, my accent hasn’t changed, unfortunately,” Lambert said with a laugh after watching her acceptance speech. “That’s funny. I hadn’t seen that in forever, but that’s cool. That’s really cool.

“I think that was just the beginning of a really cool journey,” she said. “Like, that was the starting of — it sort of gave me validation of like, OK, my peers see me, the fans see me. I’ve got to keep going. I’ve got to keep working harder. And the fact that I won that just showed that the work I had done up to that point — which wasn’t very long, but it was hard, you know — that it mattered. And so, I think that gave me like, for lack of better words, just lit a fire under my a** in a good way.”

Lambert watched that throwback moment as part of the Academy’s ACM Firsts series, which features artists sharing what they remember about on some of their biggest ACM moments ahead of the show’s milestone 60th show this spring.

The 60th ACM Awards will take place on May 8, 2025. Reba McEntire is returning to host Country Music’s Party of the Year for her 18th time, more than any other artist. McEntire previously confirmed that the 2025 show will take place again at the world headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. Additional details — including performers, presenters and nominees — have not been announced as of publication time on Thursday afternoon (March 6).

Lambert’s ACM throwback moment arrives one day after she confirmed plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut album, Kerosene. Lambert shared a sneak peek of an unreleased song from 2005, “I Don’t Love Here Anymore,” which will release this month with the 20th anniversary digital edition of Kerosene. It will be available on Friday, March 14.
