Iconic Ballad Ranks Best Song By A Female Country Artist Of All Time

Country’s iconic female artists have released some of the most timeless music in the genre.

Legendary artists and modern-day superstars delivered classic ballads over the course of several decades. Listeners could never forget hits by Tanya Tucker, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Patty Loveless, Lauren Alaina, Faith Hill, Shania Twain and countless others.

The Top Tens, a reference site that includes hundreds of thousands of Top 10 rankings, revealed its list of the Top 10 Country Songs by Female Singers. Similarly, the site listed the Best Female Country Singers of All Time, crowning Dolly Parton the winner of the No. 1 spot. Others on that Top 10 list included Miranda Lambert, Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire and more. The Top Tens noted that “from the pioneers who paved the way to the modern stars who keep the tradition alive, female voices have always been the soul of country.”

According to The Top Tens, the best country song by a female artist initially debuted in the 1970s, and surged in popularity again nearly two decades later.
