Reba McEntire’s daughter-in-law is speaking out about a rumor circulating on social media.

Marissa Blackstock, who married McEntire’s son, Shelby Blackstock, in 2022, shared a screenshot of a “fake news” post on her Instagram story on Thursday (February 27). The post alleged that McEntire’s daughter-in-law “regrets her wedding day...and the main reason is because of Reba.” Marissa encouraged her Instagram followers to report the Facebook page — which she’s since been blocked from viewing — for spreading “fake news.” She wrote on her story: “If y’all have a sec, report this page on Facebook. They post fake news and apparently got tired of me trolling them and blocked me,” adding a few laughing emojis at the end.

McEntire recently posted a sweet birthday tribute to her son, who turned 35 on Sunday (February 23). McEntire shared childhood photos of Shelby, set to her early 2000s ballad, “He Gets That From Me.” She said her son is “one of the greatest blessings God has given me. I love you with all my heart, Shelby.” The legendary country artist also paid tribute to her onscreen family in a recent post. McEntire marked 18 years since the series finale of her beloved show, Reba, aired on February 18 (though some cast members have appeared on McEntire’s current sitcom, Happy’s Place). On that day in 2007, “we said goodbye to the Hart family in the same place where it all started. We became a family, on and off screen, and I will always love the time we had together!”
