Carly Pearce paused her performance in an effort to shut down a fight that apparently broke out between fans during a recent show in Birmingham, UK.
The moment took place as Pearce works to overcome the flu and powers through the final performances abroad on her headlining world tour. The singer-songwriter has shared health updates with her audiences and on social media. She announced earlier this week that “the flu hit me right in the face,” amid “some of the biggest sold out shows of my career.”
“Tonight, we’re all here to just have a good night, you know what I mean?” Pearce said as she addressed the concertgoers, per a fan-recorded video on TikTok. “We’re all friends at my shows. And girl, I am sick and I ain’t got time for it, OK? So just please. I love you. I’m just saying please don’t make everybody around you angry, OK? …Ain’t nobody got time for that.”
The TikToker wrote that the moment showed “Carly Pearce telling girls to stop fighting at her Birmingham show. They didn’t (and) they get kicked out.” The TikTok user hailed Pearce “a pro” for the way she handled that moment.
Pearce previously shared that her show “looks a little different” while she’s under the weather, but has pledged to give audiences “every single ounce of everything that I have” on stage. The award-winning artist performs next on Wednesday (February 26) in Belfast, UK, and on Friday (February 28) in Dublin, Ireland. See her list of tour dates here.
The “hummingbird world tour” continues as Pearce announced details about her deluxe album, hummingbird: no rain, no flowers. The 19-track project will arrive on March 14. Pearce released the title track, “no rain,” when she shared details about the extended record: “‘hummingbird’ was my healing journey after ‘29.’ I felt like there were a few more songs to be shared before I close this chapter.”
