Carly Pearce powered through a performance on her world tour despite coming down with the flu.
Pearce took the stage on Monday evening (February 24) in Manchester, UK, shortly after sharing a health update on Instagram. The hummingbird star said āthe last few days I have been battling feeling sick but yesterday the flu hit me right in the face.ā It happened amid āsome of the biggest sold out shows of my career,ā Pearce said; however, she pledged to āgive (audiences) EVERYTHING I haveā during her final four shows abroad. Sheāll return to the U.S. for additional world tour dates next month.
āI have the flu,ā Pearce said as she addressed the Manchester crowd in a concertgoerās video shared by a fan account for Pearce. āBut I will tell you, the fact that Iām even up here versus what yesterday looked like is a freaking miracle, so I can assure you of one thing. Our show looks a little different tonight, but I swear to God Iāll give you every single ounce of everything that I have tonight. And if these songs sound a little lower than my records, itās because they are. So youāre getting a little bit of āCarl Pearceā tonight, OK? So that just means I need you guys to sing a little bit more with me, alright?ā
The fan account, Carly Pearce Connect, said in a separate post that they āwould truly have NO IDEAā the singer-songwriter is under the weather. Throughout the show, Pearce delivered renditions of her career-spanning hits, including āNext Girl,ā āCountry Music Made Me Do It,ā āTruck On Fire,ā āMy Place,ā āEvery Little Thing,ā āStill Blue,ā ā29,ā āNever Wanted To Be That Girlā and more. The set list also included āno rain,ā the first track to release from Pearceās upcoming deluxe album.Ā
Pearce announced the deluxe edition of her latest studio album, hummingbird, on Friday (February 21). She said when she made her announcement that āāhummingbirdā was my healing journey after ā29.ā I felt like there were a few more songs to be shared before I close this chapter.ā The 19-track deluxe album, hummingbird: no rain, no flowers, will release on March 14.
Pearce said on her Instagram story on Tuesday morning (February 25) that sheās in Glasgow and āresting upā before taking the stage. Next, sheāll perform on Wednesday (February 26) in Belfast, UK, and on Friday (February 28) in Dublin, Ireland. See her list of tour dates here.
