Trisha Yearwood debuted a new ballad during a recent performance at an intimate, iconic venue in Nashville, Tennessee. Yearwood’s performance of “The Wall Or The Way Over” aired when she appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Friday (February 21).

Yearwood unveiled the single at the Bluebird Cafe, which she recently called “the place where the songwriter is protected and it feels like the perfect place to be vulnerable.” Her show took place as she announced a list of spring tour dates at “a few really cool venues,” and teased her upcoming album. First, the iconic country star will take the stage at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville for the inaugural concert benefitting Susan G. Komen to support those impacted by breast cancer. That show will also include Lauren AlainaKristin ChenowethTerri ClarkAnita CochranSheryl CrowAmy GrantKeith Urban, and Lainey Wilson.

After that, Yearwood will kick off her spring tour — her first tour in more than five years — with singer-songwriters Erin Enderlin and Sunny Sweeney. Yearwood said Enderlin and Sweeney are “two of my co-writing pals on this new album,” Yearwood said. “I can’t wait for you to hear these amazingly talented women as they take the stage on my spring tour. You’re in for a treat!” The tour will kick off on April 30 in Austin, Texas.

In addition to her Bluebird Cafe performance, Yearwood joined Kelly Clarkson for an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show. The pair spoke about whether Yearwood would move out of the U.S. (a rumor she said husband Garth Brooks started), her friendship with late U.S. President Jimmy Carter, the surprising reason she never considered herself a songwriter until now, and more.

Yearwood’s latest song to release is “Put It In A Song,” which she performed live for the first time at the 2024 CMT Music Awards at Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Yearwood is known for “She’s In Love With The Boy,” “XXX’s and OOO’s,” “Walkaway Joe” and other unforgettable hits throughout her career. Watch her perform “The Wall Or The Way Over” here:
