Megan Moroney said sheās āfreaking outā over the opening acts on her upcoming headlining tour.
The reigning Country Music Association New Artist of the Year is kicking off her 2025 āAm I Okay? Tourā next month. Moroney gushed over the artists joining her on the tour, and ācanāt wait for yāall to fall in love with these artists.ā The lineup includes Charlie Worsham, Chase Matthew, Danielle Bradbery, Emily Ann Roberts, Emmy Russell, Ian Harrison, Kasey Tyndall, Mackenzie Carpenter, Maggie Antone, Patrick Droney, Sadie McLayne, Solon Holt, Tommy Acker and Vincent Mason on select dates, per an announcement on an account run by Moroneyās team.
Moroneyās tour arrives after her highly-anticipated sophomore album and its deluxe edition, Am I Okay? (Iāll Be Fine). The Emo Cowgirlās sophomore era includes āAm I Okay?,āĀ āNo Called ID,ā āMan on the Moon,ā āIndifferent,ā āBreak It Right Backā and more. She released it after her powerful debut record, Lucky, which also rereleased as a deluxe edition in 2023. Moroneyās first studio record included āIām Not Pretty,ā āLucky,ā āTennessee Orange,ā āGirl in the Mirror,ā āSleep on My Side,ā and more.
āAfter puttingĀ LuckyĀ out and getting to a point where my fans and I know each other so much better, I felt like I could open up and discuss things Iāve never talked about in my music before,ā Moroney said in a press release when Am I Okay? arrived in July 2024. āSometimes it almost feels like oversharing, but I feel like I have a responsibility to all the people who send me DMs or talk to me at shows and tell me how my songs helped them through a breakup or a bad time in their lives. If I can write about my heartbreak and make someone else feel like thereās a way out, then of course Iām going to keep doing that. ā¦I wanted to capture what life feels like in your 20s, where one minute youāre sad about an ex and the next youāre just having fun with your friends and couldnāt care less.
āGoing into making this record, I was getting a lot of outside opinions on what my second album should be,ā she said. āAfter a while I realized I just needed to stay true to how I started writing songs when I was 19, and then focus on making music that sonically supports the stories Iām telling. I did my best to block out all that outside noise, and just lead with honesty the whole way through.ā
