Thomas Rhett Puts Fresh Spin On Heartfelt Story About A 'Budding Romance'

Thomas Rhett put a new spin on one of the heartfelt ballads that appears on his latest studio album.

Rhett released “After All The Bars Are Closed (Last Call Version)” on Friday (February 7). The song “captures the romantic atmosphere of extending the night beyond the bar, exploring a deep, budding romance,” per a press release issued when Rhett debuted the original version of the song in August. Rhett included his wife, Lauren Akins, in the music video.

“After All The Bars Are Closed” is one of 14 tracks that appears on Rhett’s seventh studio album, About A Woman, which serves as a tribute to Akins. Rhett said he wanted the album to “exude joy and fun,” with tracks like “Overdrive,” “Gone Country,” “Beautiful As You,” the title track, “Boots” and more. Rhett has since announced his headlining “Better In Boots Tour,”” with Tucker WetmoreThe Castellows and Dasha on select dates. He also announced a show with Teddy Swims at iconic Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. Rhett is also part of the star-studded lineup of the 2025 iHeartCountry Festival, which is slated to take place on Saturday, May 3. The festival, hosted by iHeartRadio’s Bobby Bones, will return to Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Other artists in the lineup include Brooks & Dunn, Cole SwindellRascal FlattsSam HuntMegan MoroneyBailey Zimmerman and Nate Smith.
