Darius Rucker shared a statement over the weekend about his decision to move out of the U.S.

The South Carolina-born singer-songwriter recently confirmed he moved to London, days after teasing that he’s “doing a thing.” Rucker posted a few photos from a recent performance, and said he “can’t move to London and not play UK shows!” Still, Rucker said he’ll always consider the Carolinas his “home.”

“I’ve been a traveling musician all my life. I’m living in London while working on some new music and playing some shows,” Rucker said in his latest statement. “Always been on the bucket list — but don’t get it twisted y’all … nothing will ever replace the Carolinas and it is still home. Thanks for believing in me and supporting my music wherever we make it! Love y’all!”

Rucker is set to play the CMA Songwriters Series in Greenwich next month, per his website. The site also lists upcoming tour dates in the U.S. before Rucker returns to the UK for additional shows in Glasgow, London and more. In October, the Carolyn’s Boy artist will join Hootie & the Blowfish bandmates to play the Riverfront Revival event in his home state, in North Charleston, South Carolina.
