Dierks Bentley said he “was always terrible with pickup lines. I was the guy that could not use pickup lines to save my life.”
Still, the country star hilariously delivered his best shot at some pickup lines when he joined iHeartRadio’s Paul Costabile backstage at the iHeartRadio theater in New York City. In a throwback clip from 2015, Costabile handed Bentley a list of funny pickup lines to read into the camera (which he was told to treat “like a beautiful Southern belle”).
“Sorry, but are you an interior designer? Because when I saw you there, the entire room was just lit,” Bentley said. He laughed as he added, “that was terrible!”
“I’m sorry. Do you have a Band-Aid? Because I just scraped my knee falling for you,” Bentley said next.
“Smoking is bad for your health. And baby, you’re killin’ me,” he said, and laughed when Costabile exclaimed he “nailed it!”
Bentley married his wife in 2005. They have three children together, born in 2008, 2010 and 2013. Bentley released his debut album in 2003, and has since become known for hits like “What Was I Thinkin’,” “Sideways,” “Free And Easy (Down Th Road I Go),” “Come A Little Closer,” “Gone,” “Drunk On A Plane” and more.
