Why Shay Mooney, Wife No Longer Plan To Share Gender Reveal For Baby No. 4

Shay Mooney and his wife, Hannah Love Mooney, shared why they opted not to post a gender reveal for Baby No. 4.

The Dan + Shay star appeared on his wife’s podcast, Unexpected with Hannah Love, for a Q&A on the final podcast episode of the year. The conversation takes place just a few weeks before the married couple welcome their fourth child into the family. One podcast listener asked the Mooneys whether they know the gender of Baby No. 4, and Hannah replied:

“Yes we do, and I think we accidentally waited too long. Now it’s so — we’re just gonna keep it a surprise. We are horrible at surprises, collectively, as a family. So, we’re really close, and we might as well just let everyone be surprised with us at the end. …So, yes, we know. But we’re only weeks away.”

Later in the episode, Shay and Hannah paused to cut out a quote that accidentally revealed whether they’re expecting a boy or a girl. Hannah confirmed earlier this year in a two-part episode of Get Real with Caroline Hobby that she and her husband knew the gender of Baby No. 4. She said at that time that she would “let Shay handle the announcement because he’s so funny that I’m like, we’ve got to do something funny or fun, because he’s so fun,” and promised to tell Hobby after the podcast recording.

The Mooneys announced Baby No. 4 was on the way with a heartwarming video that included the whole family. Baby No. 4 will join big brothers Asher James, who will turn 8 in January, Ames Alexander, turning 5 in February, and Abram Shay, turning 2 in January.
