Actress Jill Jacobson, best known for role in the soap opera Falcon Crest, has died at the age of 70, her family revealed in a statement obtained by Deadline on Sunday (December 15).
Jacobson reportedly died last Sunday (December 8) at Culver West Health Center in Culver City, California, "after a long illness," her longtime friend and publicist Dan Harary confirmed.
“Beautiful, energetic, and positive to the end, she will be deeply missed by numerous relatives, friends, and her beloved dogs Benny and Kowalski,” the statement from Jacobson's family reads.
Jacobson, who received multiple awards for her advocacy as a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society, previously revealed her two-and-a-half-year battle with esophageal cancer, which she said "kind of took me out of the game for a while," during an interview with Jim Masters in September.
“What I went through was pretty intense. You can’t function, you just can’t function. And now I’m so grateful, I just want to keep going, I want to help people. It makes you want to help people," Jacobson said.
The actress played Erin Jones on the CBS primetime soap opera Falcon Crest for 22 episodes from 1985 to 1987 and is also credited for appearances on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Who's the Boss?, Arli$$, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Hung and Castle.
