Morgan Wallen’s case is headed to criminal court as the country star faces charges for allegedly throwing a chair from the rooftop of a six-story bar earlier this year in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
Wallen, 31, did not appear in court on Tuesday (December 10), though his attorney, Worrick Robinson, was present. Wallen’s next court date has yet to be confirmed as of publication time.
The singer-songwriter was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct after he allegedly threw a chair from the rooftop of Chief’s, Eric Church’s bar. It happened shortly before 11 p.m. on Sunday, April 7. The chair narrowly missed two Metro Nashville Police Department officers standing on the sidewalk below, though no injuries were reported that night. Witnesses reportedly observed the country artist laughing after throwing the chair, and security footage quickly surfaced after the alleged incident took place, appearing to confirm Wallen’s actions. Wallen was booked and released from jail hours later.
Wallen spoke out in a statement later that month. He said at that time, in part, that he’s “not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility. I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe.”
