Keith Urban responded to rumors that he’s moving to Australia when he caught up with Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Monday (December 9).
“I heard that y’all might be moving for good,” Clarkson brought up during her conversation with Urban. Urban grew up in Australia, as did his wife, award-winning actress Nicole Kidman. The country star, however, said there’s no truth to those rumors.
“I know, I read that, too,” Urban said. “It’s complete BS. …Someone sent me that, and I’m like, ‘what?’ We were shocked. …We’re not moving.”
Clarkson advised, “do not believe the internet!” The pair spoke briefly about what it’s like for celebrities in the public eye to hear rumors about themselves online. They also caught up on their holiday plans with Christmas and New Year’s Eve around the corner.
Urban shared that, although he isn’t moving to Australia, he plans to spend Christmas there with his family. He’ll return to the U.S. to ring in the new year as a headliner and host of the annual New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash. The show will air on Tuesday, December 31 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT, 10:30 PM-1:30 AM, ET/PT) on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
