Lainey Wilson received an unforgettable honor when she returned to her home state to wrap up her headlining “Country’s Cool Again Tour.”

Th Baskin, Louisiana-born country star, 32, helped unveil the new highway marker dedication that now appears on a road she used to travel to perform shows. The marker reads: “Born in 1992, country music trail blazer Lainey Denay Wilson is a musician, singer, songwriter, actress and storyteller. Armed with a strong family work ethic and a lifelong dream, Lainey hit Nashville in 2011. Baskin native and producer Jerry Cupit not only gave awe a place to stay, they wrote hundreds of songs together. By 2018, she signed a publishing deal with Sony and a major recording contract with BBR. In 2020, Lainey’s release of ‘Things a Man Oughta Know’ sent her to new heights. This earned her the Academy of Country Music’s Song of the Year and New Female Artist of the Year Award in 2021. Since then Lainey has played to sold out crowds all over the world!”

Wilson shared a video of the moment she unveiled the marker in an Instagram post on Monday (November 18). She said the marker appears on the Northeast Louisiana Music Trail, and she’s “been driving that road since I was a teenager carting myself back and forth to play gigs. What a cool moment that I’ll never forget.”

The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year thanked her team and guests on her tour — Jackson Dean, Zach Top and Ian Munsick — for their work on the tour throughout the year. the trek was titled as a nod to one of the tracks on Wilson’s newest album, a highly-anticipated follow-up to her Grammy-winning record, Bell Bottom Country. Whirlwind arrived in August. The 14-track project includes “Country’s Cool Again,” “Good Horses” with Miranda Lambert, “Whirlwind,” “Call A Cowboy,” “Hang Tight Honey,” “4x4xU” and more. Wilson wrapped up her headlining tour with two performances in Monroe, Louisiana. She said on Monday that it “felt right ending the tour in Louisiana ❤️”
