Hillary Scott debuted a heartwarming new Christmas duet with her eldest child, Eisele Kaye Tyrrell.
The Lady A artist and her daughter, 11, released “Hard To Wait For Christmas” on Friday (November 15). Scott said the mother-daughter duo teamed up with her husband, drummer Chris Tyrrell, to write the collaboration last year because of a conversation the family had with Eisele’s two younger sisters, Betsy and Emory Tyrrell, who will turn 7 in January.
“Last year Eisele, her dad, and I sat and wrote this song after a little family drama trying to explain to her sisters, Betsy and Emory, why we were not able to open every single day of the advent calendar. This conversation led into all the other reasons why it is hard to wait for Christmas,” Scott shared as the duet released on Friday. “Our hope is that this song makes your family smile and lean into the playful spirit of the holiday season while you wait 40 more days until Christmas.”
Scott’s Lady A bandmates, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, shared their reactions in comments on Instagram. Kelley said he’s “so proud of that little girl,” and Haywood said it was “a special moment for sweet EK and family! She sounds amazing!! I’m officially the guy saying ‘I remember when you were born!’ 😍😍” Other country artists, including sister duo Tigirlily Gold and hummingbird star Carly Pearce, gushed over the “adorable,” “precious” mother-daughter duet.
