Lainey Wilson made an unexpected wardrobe choice when she took the stage during one of her recent headlining shows.
The reigning ACM and CMA Entertainer of the Year wore an inflatable Halloween costume that gave the appearance of Wilson sitting on the back of a giant chicken. She shared photos and videos from her recent tour stops on Instagram on Monday afternoon (November 4). One video, appearing on the fifth slide, captured Wilson performing āCounting Chickensā in the costume.
āHalloweekend on the road š Who let the chickens out? Thank you Little Rock, Evansville and Charleston ā¤ļø,ā Wilson wrote in her caption.
āCounting Chickensā is one of 14 tracks that appeared on her highly-anticipated new album, Whirlwind, which she released in August. The record follows Wilsonās Grammy-winning Bell Bottom Country (2022), and includes āCountryās Cool Again,ā āGood Horsesā with Miranda Lambert, āWhirlwind,ā āHang Tight Honeyā and more. āCounting Chickensā is one of the love songs on the project ā amid Wilsonās relationship with boyfriend Devlin āDuckā Hodges ā along with ā4x4xUā and others.
āWhirlwindĀ is kind of the Western sister ofĀ Bell Bottom Country,ā Wilson previously said in a statement. āSince that album, I have gotten to experience so many new things and meet folks from different walks of life. Because of that, Iāve become a better songwriter, and I have more understanding. I feel like Iāve truly stepped into what it is that Iām called to be doing. Ironically, I found my path within all the crazinessāand thatās the whirlwind.ā
