Katelyn Brown shared sneak peeks of unreleased music on her Instagram story on Thursday afternoon (October 31), and shared that she worked on “a really special project” for her kids.
Katelyn and her husband, award-winning artist Kane Brown, are parents to three young children: daughters Kingsley Rose, 5, and Kodi Jane, who turns 3 at the end of the year, plus son Krewe Allen, who arrived on June 18.
“This past summer I got to work on a really special project with [Nathan Chapman] dedicated for my kiddos,” Katelyn shared in a statement on her Instagram story. “I wanted a gift for our kids when they got older to look back and listen to some of our favorite songs I sang to them as babies and they still ask to be sung before bed🥹 also to be able to hear their little voices back when they are all grown up. Definitely was such a special time I will never forget … Recording some of the songs with the baby in my arms was the most special moments for this mama … love you, King, Kodi & Krewe so incredibly much 🤍 you and daddy are my world.”
Katelyn did not announce the project’s title or release date as of publication time.
In late August, Katelyn shared a photo on Instagram that appeared to hint at new music on the way. She sat cross-legged in front of a microphone while holding Baby No. 3, and wrote in her caption that she was “working on something for my babies 🥹.” She’s since shared a few snippets of unreleased music. On Thursday, Katelyn shared her version of “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” a rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and more.
Katelyn previously appeared on “Thank God,” a romantic duet Kane included on his latest full-length album, Different Man, which arrived in September 2022. Kane and Katelyn have since hinted at more duets on the way, and Kane confirmed his next album, The High Road, will release on January 24. The 18-track album includes “Fiddle in the Band,” “Miles On it” with Marshmello, “I Can Feel It,” and “Backseat Driver,” a ballad that offers a sweet glimpse of the singer-songwriter’s life as a dad.
