Thomas Rhett shared a sweet throwback photo with his wife, Lauren Akins, on Instagram on Monday afternoon (October 28).
Rhett and Akins appear to be in a high school classroom, each cradling a back of flour in their arms in an effort to learn how to care for a baby. Now parents to four young girls, Rhett wrote in his caption: “2 bags of flour turned into 4 real ones real fast…” The second slide of the Instagram post is a family photo, featuring daughters Willa Gray (nearly 9), Ada James, (7), Lennon Love (4) and Lillie Carolina (nearly 3).
Rhett met Akins in elementary school. The couple dated briefly in high school, though they opted to remain friends after they parted ways. Rhett popped the question six months after they rekindled their relationship. They got married on October 12, 2012, in Nashville, Tennessee. The About A Woman artist wrote in an anniversary tribute to his wife earlier this month: “12 years ago today I got to marry my best friend. [Lauren Akins] can you believe that?! I thank God everyday that you said yes to marrying me. You are the most beautiful, loving, giving, thoughtful, most selfless human being I know. You love me and our babies so well. You continue to amaze and inspire me to be a better version of myself everyday. I’m truly so blessed. I love you so much babe. Happy golden anniversary!”
