Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia recently recalled saying she “would never date anyone famous ever,” before she dated singer-songwriter Zach Bryan. Bryan publicly confirmed his split from LaPaglia on Tuesday (October 22) in a statement that left the Internet personality “blindsided,” she said in her own statement and a tearful video following her ex’s announcement.
LaPaglia appeared on the latest episode of Talk Tuah with Hailey Welch, during which “Bri addresses rumors about her relationship- and advises Haliey to stay away from dating anyone in the public eye,” the episode description reads. LaPaglia said on the podcast that she “literally never wanted to [date someone famous], and then it kinda just happened.
“I think it's better for the mental [health] to not date someone famous,” LaPaglia said on the podcast, and said, when asked about her relationship in the public eye: “There's new rumors every week so I've come to conclusion the Internet will believe like anything.”
“Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart,” Bryan wrote in the statement that appeared on his Instagram story on Tuesday. “She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her. I have had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways. I am not perfect and never will be. Please respect Brianna’s privacy and space in this and if you have it in your heart, mine too. With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself.”
LaPaglia posted a cryptic photo of a handwritten note on Instagram one day earlier, on Monday (October 21), reportedly stirring rumors of a breakup. She said in her own statement after Bryan’s public confirmation of the split that she feels “really blindsided right now,” and will take a break from social media. Soon afterward, she shared a brief, emotional video addressing the breakup.
“It’s really, really heartbreaking. I don’t wanna talk about details right now,” LaPaglia said. “I don’t wanna talk about it yet. I will, obviously. But right now, I wanted to heal privately and I didn’t even know that he was going to post that. …I just don’t wanna talk about it, so please don’t make videos about this and please don’t make videos about me. Just wait until I come back and talk about it. Can you give me f***ing that?”
