Kenny Chesney Cherishes This Tribute To Late Legend Jimmy Buffett

Kenny Chesney looked back on a heartfelt tribute he recently delivered to late music legend Jimmy Buffett.

Chesney said he’s “gonna remember this moment forever,” as he shared a clip from TODAY capturing his performance of Buffett’s “Come Monday” with Mac McAnally and James Taylor. The performance took place during the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The Rock Hall also shared a clip of the performance on Instagram over the weekend.

This year, Buffett was honored with the musical excellence award, alongside MC5, Dionne Warwick and Norman Whitfield. The performer category included Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & the Gang, Ozzy Osbourne and A Tribe Called Quest. The musical influence award honorees include Alexis Korner, John Mayall and Big Mama Thornton, and the Ahmet Ertegun award went to Suzanne De Passe, per the Cleveland, Ohio-based Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Buffett died last year after battling skin cancer. He as 76. Since then, his friends and fellow artists have mourned his death and honored his life with heartfelt tributes, including his Rock Hall induction and Zac Brown Band’s “Pirates & Parrots” featuring McAnally, among many others.
