Brantley Gilbert and his wife, Amber Cochran Gilbert, opened up about their unexpected birth story with Baby No. 3.
Gilbert was pulled off stage for an “emergency” during his concert on Friday night (October 11) in Tupelo, Mississippi. He returned to the stage and announced to the crowd that he and his wife welcomed Baby No. 3. Amber delivered her newborn son on the tour bus, and said in an Instagram caption on Sunday (October 13) that “we will never forget the way you got here and we can’t wait to see what you do here.” She confirmed in that post that Baby Gilbert’s name is Abram Howell Gilbert.
The country star and his wife appeared on Fox and Friends on Monday morning (October 14) to talk about their son’s unexpected arrival during a show. Gilbert said he “can’t say this was on my bingo card. It was kind of crazy,” when asked whether he thought the “emergency” could be that Baby No. 3 was on the way. Though the Gilberts were prepared with a midwife at the show, “we thought we had a week or so left,” until his son’s arrival, Gilbert said. He “didn’t think in a million years,” the baby’s birth would happen during a concert. Gilbert said Amber was understanding about her husband returning to the stage to finish the show, and said she had time to sit with her newborn.
Gilbert and Amber got married in June 2015. They’re also parents to son Barrett Hardy-Clay, 6, and daughter Braylen Hendrix, 5, and Amber said on Fox and Friends that Abram Howell’s big siblings “are obsessed with him. They love him.” Gilbert announced on Mother’s Day that Amber was pregnant with Baby No. 3. He confirmed during his Fox and Friends interview on Monday that he first learned about his wife’s pregnancy on his tour bus. Abram’s arrival on the same bus was a full-circle moment for the family.
“So last night might have been the craziest night of my life,” Gilbert wrote in his Instagram caption when he announced Baby No. 3’s birth on Saturday (October 12). “Watching such an amazing woman do such an amazing thing is something I’ll never forget. Thank you to our road family for rallying around us, Brittany Thornton for helping us bring this little dude into the world, Tupelo, Mississippi for showing us mad love and support, and most of all… Amber Gilbert, for letting me love you and showing me EXACTLY how incredibly strong a woman can be. I love you.”
