Dan + Shay seemingly hinted that this year will be the year the duo releases a holiday album. The full project has been widely requested by fans over the years as Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney have teamed up to deliver other Christmas singles.
On Monday (September 23), Dan + Shay posted a video on Instagram of a recording studio decorated with colorful, glowing lights and a Christmas tree in the background. The audio offers a snippet of Mooney singing the classic “The Christmas Song” lyric, “chestnuts roasting on an open fire.”
“COULD THIS BE THE YEAR? 🎄,” the award-winning duo captioned the video. Smyers replied in the comments, “it very well could be 🎅🏽,” and Mooney added Santa emojis as hundreds of eager fans dropped comments in anticipation for a holiday album announcement.
Over the years, Dan + Shay have released “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Take Me Home For Christmas,” “Holiday Party,” “Officially Christmas,” “Pick Out A Christmas Tree” and “Christmas Isn’t Christmas.”
The duo’s latest full-length album is Bigger Houses, a 12-track project that includes “Save Me The Trouble,” “Heartbreak On The Map,” “We Should Get Married” and more. Listen to Dan + Shay’s latest teaser here:
