Jana Kramer debuted the heartfelt ballad she wrote for her husband and shared with him on the coupleβs wedding day over the summer.
Kramer released βWarriorβ on Friday (September 13). She teamed up with Sara Brice and Aubrey Toone to write it, and it was produced by Saraβs husband, country star Lee Brice, and fellow artist Jerrod Niemann. Kramer paid tribute to the team of βcreative geniusesβ in a lengthy Instagram caption on Thursday (September 12), hours before releasing βWarrior.β Earlier this week, she also shared a video of the intimate moment she played the song for her husband, Scottish former soccer star Allan Russell, on the morning of their wedding.
βWriting songs has always been a personal and vulnerable experience for me,β the Whine Down with Jana Kramer host shared. βThe reason I wanted to sing and do music was because music has always helped me in the times when I needed it the most and I wanted to be able to give that back. So, throughout the years Iβve always sang and wrote songs I related to and many of them I would hope that it would help others with whatever they were going through too. β¦When I met Allan, I knew I wanted to write him a wedding song. I wanted to, in a way say thank you, but also βI will always be there by your side fighting for us.β
βI remember when we finished, I cried because It was everything I wanted to say to Allan,β Kramer said when she reflected on the process of bringing βWarriorβ to life.
Kramer, 40, and Russell, 43, got married in Scotland on July 13. The stunning ceremony included Kramerβs two children from her previous marriage βΒ Jolie, 8, andΒ Jace, 5 βΒ Troy, 16, Russellβs son from a previous relationship, and the baby Kramer and Russell share. They welcomed son Roman James Russell in November 2023. Russell hailed Kramer βan absolute warrior of a womanΒ and incredible mum who I simply adore.β
