Keith Urban made an unusual comparison to Miley Cyrusâ voice.
Urban appeared on a newly-premiered episode of Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie to talk about his soon-to-release album, HIGH. During that conversation, Urban covered Cyrusâ âFlowers,â said of the Grammy winner: âI love that voice, man, that voice. She sounds like an ashtray. And I mean that as a compliment. She sounds like the carpet at the RSL!â
âThis album is the result of a prior record I started in 2022,â Urban said when he announced his new album in June. âItâs 40 minutes top to bottom, and is completely expressive, true, honest and is so much more of what I actually wanted to say when making that scrapped record. I hope these songs bring you joy, levity, some new understanding, energy, and escape!
âWhen Iâm writing a song, or when Iâm in the studio recording it, or even when its coming to life on the stage, itâs the same feeling of being âin the flow.â Itâs timeless, itâs weightless â and I feel euphoric â I feel HIGH,â he added in a statement previously shared via his record label. âWhat makes you âhighâ can mean whatever you want it to mean. It might be physical, spiritual, herbal, meditative, chemical or musical, but itâs definitely a place of utopia.â
So far, Urban has released âStraight Line,â âMessed Up As Me,â âGo Home W Uâ featuring Lainey Wilson, âWildsideâ and âHeart Like A Hometownâ from the upcoming 12-track album.
