Chris Stapleton paid tribute to love stories that last a lifetime — and beyond — in the “Think I’m In Love With You” music video he premiered on Thursday (August 29).
Stapleton and his wife, Morgane Stapleton, make cameo appearances as a grave digger and a tearful mourner, respectively, in the Running Bear-directed visual. Andre Royo stars in the video as Jerald King, opposite Sandra Smith as Marianne King. It opens with the main character of the video at the end of his life, peaceful and surrounded by family. Jerald’s spirit rises, and he joyfully dances out of the house, down the street and eventually reaching his memorial service. Jerald ascends to an afterlife where he reunites with his late wife, Marianne, on a dance floor with a disco ball spinning above them. As the two spin around on the dance floor — thanks to choreography by JaQuel Knight — scenes throughout their lives together flash on screen. The music video moves on to Jerald’s headstone next to Marianne’s, and Stapleton makes his only appearance in the video, which includes a dedication “to Poppop & Mommom.”
Stapleton delivered a powerful rendition of “Think I’m In Love With You” at the 59th ACM Awards earlier this year with surprise guest Dua Lipa. The duo later released the duet version of the song. It’s one of 14 tracks to appear on Stapleton’s 2023 album, Higher, along with “What Am I Gonna Do,” “It Takes A Woman,” “White Horse,” the title track and more.
