Hannah Mooney shared a heartfelt conversation about motherhood when she sat down with Caroline Hobby for the first of a two-part podcast episode.
Mooney appears on a recent episode of Get Real with Caroline Hobby. Together, the pair talk about Mooney’s experience in pageants when she was Miss Arkansas USA, spoke about how she navigated a toxic relationship and challenging breakups before she met her husband, feeling lost during transitions in life, and more. Mooney, who married Dan + Shay star Shay Mooney in 2017, bonded with Hobby over an emotional conversation about their kids growing up.
The Mooney family recently announced Baby No. 4 is on the way. The eldest in the family, Asher James, turned 7 in January. Ames Alexander turned 4 in February, and Abram Shay turned 1 in January. The Mooneys have yet to share whether Baby No. 4 is a boy or a girl. The soon-to-be mom of four said her award-winning husband is “already excited” about bringing the boys on the road someday. Mooney said during her conversation with Hobby that although she sometimes finds herself sad that “they’re all gonna leave me,” she’s proud to get to watch them grow up.
Mooney also shared the story of how she met her husband, who is one-half of the duo with Dan Smyers. She met Shay and many of his family members at the same time, following a Dan + Shay concert. the first time they met, Shay invited his now-wife to the ACM Awards. Though Mooney admitted she was hesitant at first, she ultimately agreed to join him as friends.
Hobby said her conversation with Mooney “is real, raw, and oh-so-relatable—whether you’re in your 20s, 30s, or beyond.” Listen to the first part of the conversation here:
