Thomas Rhett shut down the bars during his latest performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night (August 21).
Rhett took the stage with “After All The Bars Are Closed,” the last track to release from his seventh studio album before the full project arrives on Friday (August 23). The song follows “Beautiful As You,” “Gone Country” and “Overdrive.” It’s a ballad that “captures the romantic atmosphere of extending the night beyond the bar, exploring a deep, budding romance,” reads a press release announcing the song’s debut earlier this month. “With an arrangement of clean guitars, finger snaps and a smooth, velvet-like beat, Thomas Rhett delivers the lyrics with a suave vocal that blends quick-hitting confidence with genuine attraction.”
Rhett’s album, About A Woman, offers heartfelt tributes to his wife, Lauren Akins. The couple met in elementary school, dated briefly in high school and remained close friends until they rekindled their romance a few years later. they got married in October 2012, and have since welcomed four young daughters (and Rhett recently commented on the possibility of Baby No. 5): Willa Gray (8), Ada James (7), Lennon Love (4) and Lillie Carolina (2).

“From top to bottom, I wanted to exude joy and fun with this project – and really just make people move,” Rhett said as he announced new details about his album in early June. “I went into making this record with a fearless attitude, put my blinders on and my head down to try and make really fun music. …I feel like if you were to ask me what this record is about, the answer would be it’s about one woman, my wife, and it gave me an opportunity to say ‘I love you’ in a lot of different ways.”
Rhett recently surprised an intimate audience in Nashville, Tennessee, following an album preview hosted by iHeartRadio’s Wayne D. Listen to Rhett’s exclusive performance and Q&A session with Bobby Bones by tuning into the iHeartCountry Album Release Party with Thomas Rhett. it will be broadcast on iHeartCountry stations at 7 p.m. local time on Friday, August 23, in celebration of Rhett’s album release. Rhett is one of many artists taking the stage at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival, returning to the T-Mobile Arena stage on September 20 and 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Other artists in the genre-spanning lineup include Big Sean, Camila Cabello, Doja Cat, Gwen Stefani, Hozier, Keith Urban, New Kids on the Block, Paramore, Shaboozey, The Black Crowes, Victoria Monét, and more.
