Keith Urban shared a few photos and videos from a recent pop-up performance at a Buc-ee’s in Athens, Alabama.

The country star took the stage — and served fresh brisket — at the travel center chain on Friday evening (August 16). He reminisced on the experience with a post on Instagram on Monday evening (August 19), including a photo with the iconic Buc-ee’s mascot, performance photos and videos, and a glimpse of Urban working behind the counter.

“Thank you sooooo much to everyone that came out to [Buc-ee’s] in Athens, AL on Friday,” Urban wrote in his caption. I visited about a month ago and left thinking it would be the perfect spot to do a show. You all exceeded every expectation I could’ve possibly had !! Also want to give a massive shoutout to the entire Buc-ee’s staff for helping us pull this together and being so good to us.”

Urban admitted when he took the stage in front of a massive crowd in the parking lot that “my caveman brain” expected about 100 to 200 attendees. Urban said he prepared for a small audience, and when fans far exceeded his expectations, he said “this is freaking me out.”

The pop-up concert at Buc-ee’s arrives about a month before Urban is set to release his next studio album, HIGH. So far, Urban has released “Straight Line,” “Messed Up As Me,” “Go Home W U” featuring Lainey Wilson, “Wildside” and “Heart Like A Hometown.”

“When I’m writing a song, or when I’m in the studio recording it, or even when its coming to life on the stage, it’s the same feeling of being ‘in the flow.’ It’s timeless, it’s weightless – and I feel euphoric – I feel HIGH,” Urban said in a statement via his record label of the upcoming project. “What makes you ‘high’ can mean whatever you want it to mean. It might be physical, spiritual, herbal, meditative, chemical or musical, but it’s definitely a place of utopia.”

HIGH will arrive on September 20.
