Watch Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Others Honor Legendary Band, Alabama

Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Jamey Johnson and others delivered heartfelt tributes to Alabama during a CMT Giants special in the band’s honor. The special premiered on Thursday evening (August 15).

Band members Randy OwenTeddy Gentry remembered Jeff Cookwho died in November 2022, who they took the stage to reflect on their decades-long career. The Country Music Hall of Fame members formed in Fort Payne, Alabama, and became known for hits like “Song of the South,” “Mountain Music,” “I’m in a Hurry (And Don’t Know Why),” “Tennessee River,” “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band),” “Born Country,” “Dixieland Delight” and many more over the years.

The lineup included Blake Shelton ft. Steve Wariner, Brad Paisley, Jamey Johnson, Jason Aldean, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, Pam Tillis & Lorrie Morgan, Riley Green, and Sam Hunt, CMT previously confirmed. Evander Holyfield, Lionel Richie, Luke BryanMartina McBride, Vince Gill also paid tribute to the legendary band. CMT will air several encore showings of CMT Giants: Alabama through the end of August. The next one is set for Saturday (August 17) at noon ET/11 a.m. CT. Watch some of the performances from the special below.
