Reba McEntire remembered a special guest who made an appearance on her beloved sitcom in the early 2000s.
“Did y’all know my Mama made a cameo on the Reba show in our fourth season? I still get a kick out of this!” McEntire wrote in her caption as she shared a video on Instagram on Friday afternoon (August 16). The country singer-songwriter and actress shared a scene from Reba with co-star Melissa Peterman. McEntire’s mother, Jacqueline, appears at the end of the clip. McEntire's mother passed away in 2020. She was 93. McEntire has since paid tribute to her late mother with a heartfelt ballad, “Seven Minutes in Heaven,” which appeared on her album Not That Fancy. The 14-track collection arrived in October 2023, along with a companion lifestyle book by the same title.
McEntire starred as Reba Hart in the comedy show that premiered in 2001. Others in the cast included Christopher Rich, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Scarlett Pomers, Mitch Holleman and Steve Howey. The show ran for six seasons, coming to an end in 2007. McEntire is getting ready to debut her new comedy series, Happy’s Place, this fall. The show reunites the “Fancy” star with Reba co-star Peterman, plus her real-life boyfriend, actor Rex Linn, and others in the cast. McEntire’s character “inherits a restaurant from her late father, then learns she must share ownership with a newly discovered half-sister, creating awkward tension between the two,” per the NBC sitcom’s description. Happy’s Place will premiere on October 18.
