Keith Urban took the stage at a small-town bar to deliver his rendition of “Go Home W U” in the music video that premiered on Thursday (August 15).

Urban teamed up with reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson on “Go Home W U,” which he previously explained was never intended to be a duet (though the Whirlwind artist took it “to another level”). Urban incorporated footage from the duo’s performance at CMA Fest, hailed the longest-running country festival in the world, earlier this year on the main stage in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The duet was one of 30 performances to air in a televised concert special.

“Go Home W U” is one of five tracks already available from Urban’s upcoming 12-track album, HIGH. Urban has also released “Straight Line,” “Messed Up As Me,” “Wildside” and “Heart Like A Hometown.” The new album will arrive on September 20, Urban confirmed in late June.

“I wrote ‘GO HOME W U’ in 2020 with BRELANDSam (Sumser) and Sean (Small),” Urban previously said via his record label. “We had a blast writing it. It started out as a late-night drum loop, I grabbed a bass guitar and started playing a simple recurring bass line. Before we knew it, we were writing a chorus that could be sung by any drunk person in any bar anywhere in the world. …A friend of mine suggested the idea of making the song a duet and I immediately thought of Lainey. Besides the fact that I love her voice, she’s got the swagger and attitude that fit so well with the song.”

Wilson, who surprised her audience with a performance of the duet during her headlining tour stop in Nashville, said Urban “has been someone in the industry I’ve taken notes from for a while now. From watching him at CMA Fest every year growing up to hearing the way he treats people up and down music row, he has taught me a lot. He’s a genuine supporter of mine and I am honored I get to continue to learn from one of the best. Getting to do a song with Keith is a notch on my belt I am very proud of.”

Urban is one of many artists taking the stage at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival, returning to the T-Mobile Arena stage on September 20 and 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Other artists in the genre-spanning lineup include Big SeanCamila CabelloDoja CatGwen StefaniHozier, Thomas Rhett, New Kids on the BlockParamoreShaboozeyThe Black CrowesVictoria Monét, and more. Ryan Seacrest will host the two-day festival.
