Watch Thomas Rhett Surprise Intimate Nashville Crowd At Album Preview Event

Thomas Rhett surprised an intimate crowd at his special iHeartCountry Album Preview Party hosted at the Analog at the Hutton Hotel on Thursday evening (August 1) in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

The award-winning singer-songwriter took the stage after iHeartRadio’s Wayne D hosted the About A Woman preview. Rhett’s seventh studio album arrives in just a few weeks. He performed acoustic renditions of a few unreleased anthems (in addition to some career-spanning classics), interspersed with a few Q&A moments with iHeartCountry personality Bobby Bones.

On Rhett’s About A Woman, weeks away from its long-awaited debut, “tempos were kept high and the melodies tight, while organic country makes up the foundation, layers of retro ‘80s sounds and thumping beats span the album’s fourteen anthemic instant classic,” reads a press release issued Friday morning (August 2).

Rhett began his About A Woman chapter with “Beautiful As You,” the first single to release from the album. That song arrived in May. He’s since followed the heartfelt anthem with “Gone Country” and “Overdrive,” a nostalgic track capturing the whirlwind of young love that features Rhett’s younger brother, Tyler Lankford, in the music video. The country star and father of four created the collection to serve as a tribute to his wife, Lauren Akins.

“From top to bottom, I wanted to exude joy and fun with this project – and really just make people move,” Rhett said as he announced new details about his album in early June. “I went into making this record with a fearless attitude, put my blinders on and my head down to try and make really fun music. …I feel like if you were to ask me what this record is about, the answer would be it’s about one woman, my wife, and it gave me an opportunity to say ‘I love you’ in a lot of different ways.”

Listen to Rhett’s exclusive performance and Q&A session with Bobby Bones by tuning into the iHeartCountry Album Release Party with Thomas Rhett. it will be broadcast on iHeartCountry stations at 7 p.m. local time on Friday, August 23, in celebration of Rhett’s album release. Fans can tune in to their local iHeartRadio stations for more information on preview parties and chances to win exclusive experiences from their favorite artists, per the release issued Friday morning.
