Tigirlily Gold embraced a long-awaited milestone on Friday morning (July 26), and nodded to music legend Dolly Parton to mark the occasion.
The North Dakota-born sister duo and reigning Academy of Country Music New Duo of the Year released their debut full-length album after more than a decade “of blonde, sweat, and tears.” Sisters Krista and Kendra Slaubaugh’s new 10-track album, Blonde, offers a few previously-released songs that show the duo’s range from electrifying anthems worth cranking up with the windows down or raising a glass to during a live show (“Shoot Tequila”), to deeply vulnerable heartbreak ballads that strike a chord with listeners (“I Tried A Ring On”), and everything in between.
- Blonde
- Leroy
- Hometown Song
- Move On
- End Up Us

“We’ve spend the past 11 years working towards this moment right here…our DEBUT ALBUM,” Tigirlily Gold gushed in a statement they posted on Instagram to mark Blonde’s release. “There’s been a lot of blonde, sweat, and tears along the way, but every small step taken, every song written, every show played, every tip in the bucket dropped, every person we met, and every highlight and lowlight has led us here.
“Blonde is all about embracing your inner confidence, being bold, wearing your heart on your sleeve, and having the ability to poke fun at yourself when life doesn’t go your way,” they continued, reiterating a sentiment they shared while catching up with iHeartCountry on the red carpet at the 2024 CMT Music Awards earlier this year: “GIRL GROUP ENERGY is alive and well, and we hope after listening to these 10 songs you feel like you’ve gained two more sisters in this world. This record is for all of you, and we hope you love it as much as we loved making it. This is just the beginning of a long, beautiful road ahead because MAMA DIDN’T RAISE NO QUITTERS!!
“P.S. Life’s best lived with a Dolly Parton state of mind,” Krista and Kendra concluded. The note they shared before fans listened to Blonde drew praise in the comments from fellow artists Kimberly Perry (solo artist and formerly of The Band Perry with brothers Reid and Neil), Tenille Townes, Hailey Whitters and more. The Slaubaughs said when they announced their debut album earlier this year that the songs “reflect both our journeys together as sisters and our individual lives navigating our 20’s,” and “this right here feels like the start of a whole new chapter.”
