Callista Clark Shares Engagement Photos With Fiancé Garrett Jacobs

Callista Clark and Garrett Jacobs are getting married!

The country artist and former American Idol contestant announced their engagement on Thursday (July 11). Clark shared stunning engagement photos on Instagram, writing in her caption: “Est. 2021, going on forever 🤍💍” The bride-to-be and her fiancé shared their engagement news with PEOPLE, telling the outlet that “we wanted to be very intentional and keep our relationship private. When we got to the point where we wanted to announce that we were engaged, we wanted that to be the first time people knew that we were officially dating the whole time.”

The two artists met in 2019 and remained friends for a while before they started dating. Clark, 20, told PEOPLE that her first date with Jacobs, 24, took place after he attended her performance at the historic Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. They were in love within two months. Jacobs, who competed on season 16 of American Idol in 2018, proposed in a field in Tennessee after getting permission from Clark’s father. Clark is a self-proclaimed “old soul” who has “always wanted to get married young.” She said her fiancé is “the most loyal and kind-hearted person that I’ve ever met.” Jacobs shared the engagement photos on his Instagram story, writing: “Future Mrs. Jacobs coming in hot.’

Clark is known for songs like “It’s ‘Cause I Am,” “Gave It Back Broken” and others. Her most recent release is “Point Of No Return.” She plans to release another ballad, titled “Gettin’ Old,” on August 9. Most recently, Jacobs released “Smoke,” which he described as “one of the most honest songs I’ve ever been a part of and I’m so proud to have it out in the world.”
