Kelsea Ballerini marked the dawn of a new chapter in her artistry when she revealed her new duet with Noah Kahan, “Cowboys Cry Too,” would arrive on Friday (June 28).
iHeartCountry listeners, however, can catch it one day early.
“Cowboys Cry Too” is airing on iHeartCountry stations nationwide on Thursday (June 27). The world premiere comes shortly after Ballerini and Kahan shared subtle hints on Instagram and TikTok to stir anticipation for the collaboration. “Cowboys Cry Too” also makes its debut about a month after Ballerini and Kahan took the stage together at the 59th ACM Awards, hosted at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, the world headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys. They performed a mashup of Ballerini’s “Mountain With A View” and Kahan’s “Stick Season.” They reunited again when Ballerini joined Kahan on stage during one of his headlining shows at Bridgestone Arena in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
Ballerini confirmed during a Nashville rooftop show earlier this month that her next album (following Subject To Change and Rolling Up The Welcome Mat) is expected sometime this year, and hinted that a collaboration was imminent. When asked whether she had a dream collaboration, she responded: “Dream collab? You’ll see real soon.”
Ballerini recently caught up with iHeartRadio’s Wayne D about how she met Kahan and the story behind the duo’s new collaboration on iHeartCountry House Party. Listen to a clip from their conversation here:
