“Now that I’m gone, I’ve got your attention,” Miranda Lambert sings in the newest song to release as she looks ahead to her forthcoming era of music.

Lambert released “Dammit Randy,” shortly after stirring anticipation for its debut with hints on her social media pages. It’s the Texas-born singer-songwriter’s latest impression of her next chapter of music since she unleashed “Wranglers,” a fiery revenge anthem that nodded to previous, iconic singles throughout her career (particularly, the title track of her 2005 album, Kerosene).

Lambert’s latest full-length record is Palomino, a 15-track album that arrived in April 2022 and took listeners on a cross-country journey with a wide range of characters popping up along the way. Palomino included “Actin’ Up” — featuring a lyric that inspired the name of Lambert’s Las Vegas residency, Velvet Rodeo — “Geraldene,” “Music City Queen” featuring The B-52’s, “Strange,” a cover of Mick Jagger’s “Wandering Spirit,” “If I Was a Cowboy” and more. Since Palomino, Lambert has released her rendition of Billy Joe Shaver’s “I’m Just an Old Chunk of Coal (But I’m Gonna Be A Diamond Someday),” “If You Were Mine” with Leon Bridges, her live performance of “Carousel” from the 2023 ACM Awards, and “Space in My Heart” with Enrique Iglesias.
