Kelly Clarkson put her own spin on a toe-tapping 90s country anthem during her “Kellyoke” performance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. She delivered an energetic rendition of “Sold,” by Kentucky-born artist John Michael Montgomery.

Montgomery, 59, released “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)” on his self-titled album in 1995. The 10-track collection also included “I Can Love You Like That,” “No Man’s Land,” “Cowboy Love,” “Long as I Live,” “Holdin’ on to Something” and more.

“And I said/ ‘Hey pretty lady, won't you give me a sign?/ I’d give anything to make you mine o' mine/ I’ll do your biddin' and be at your beck and call/ Yeah, I've never seen anyone lookin' so fine/ Man, I gotta have her she's a one of a kind/ I’m goin' once, goin' twice, I'm sold/ To the lady in the long black dress/ Plus she won my heart, it was no contest/ With her ruby red lips, blonde hair, blue eyes/ Well, I'm about to bid my heart goodbye”

“Sold” was one of many hits throughout Montgomery’s career, along with “Be My Baby Tonight,” “Life’s a Dance,” “I Love the way You Love Me,” “I Swear” and many others. It’s also one of many country anthems Clarkson has covered on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Other recent renditions include songs by Shania Twain, Miranda Lambert, The Judds, Lainey Wilson, Reba McEntire and Josh Turner, to name a few. Watch Clarkson cover Montgomery’s “Sold” here:
