Kelsea Ballerini revealed a sneak peek of an unreleased ballad on TikTok on Tuesday morning (June 25), and seemingly confirmed her next duet partner.
Ballerini simply captioned the 22-second clip with two emojis — the pair of eyes and the cowboy — with the hashtag “new music.” Some TikTokers commented, however, that the audio is labeled “Kelsea Ballerini & Noah Kahan.”
Ballerini’s sneak peek on TikTok arrives after she shared a few teasers on her Instagram story on Monday (June 24). In one video, the award-winning singer-songwriter penned a handwritten note that asked, “you a cowboy yet?” On the next slide of her Instagram story, Ballerini appeared to place the note in a shoebox (with a pair of cowboy boots inside, of course) in the backseat of her car. It was “delivery time,” she said with a smile. Soon after that, Kahan shared a photo on his own Instagram story. The photo captured the pair of boots with Ballerini’s note, and he responded: “Nah I cry too much.”
The Subject To Change artist took the stage with Kahan at the 59th ACM Awards last month at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, the world headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys. Together, they performed a mashup of Ballerini’s “Mountain With A View” and Kahan’s “Stick Season.” The pair reunited again at Bridgestone Arena in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee, during one of Kahan’s headlining shows.
Ballerini recently teased her next era of music during an intimate rooftop show in Nashville, hours away from her performance at Nissan Stadium for the televised concert special that airs Tuesday evening (June 25 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on ABC and streaming the next day on Hulu.). Ballerini is preparing for her next chapter of music, following Subject To Change and Rolling Up The Welcome Mat. She said during the rooftop show that she’s “never handled anything with so much care in my life.” When asked whether she had a dream collaboration, she responded: “Dream collab? You’ll see real soon.”
