Cole Swindell and his new wife, Courtney Little Swindell, offered a glimpse into their surprise wedding reception over the weekend outside of Nashville, Tennessee. The celebration follows the couple’s intimate wedding earlier this month in Sonoma County, California, and their honeymoon in Turks and Caicos.
Little Swindell shared a video on Instagram on Sunday evening (June 23) to reminisce on “the best day of our lives.” The video captured the breathtaking California venue and the small ceremony for family (including a nod to the award-winning country star’s late father). One day later, on Monday (June 24), the couple shared Brides photos, by luxury wedding photographer Madison Hare, from their weekend reception for about 250 guests. The bride said “we loved the intimacy of a private ceremony with only our close family, but also wanted to celebrate with our favorite people,” as the newlyweds spoke with the digital publication.
“It’s hard to put into words how special [the reception] was,” Swindell told Brides. The Georgia-born country star honored his late father at the surprise reception — as he had at the California ceremony — by displaying his guitar amid a wall of guests’ names written on oversized guitar picks. “Having family and friends in town to celebrate our marriage is something we’ll always cherish. Looking forward to this chapter of our lives.”
Swindell and Little shared photos of their intimate wedding in California, taken by Hare, one day after the ceremony. The former iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Song of the Year winner (for his Jo Dee Messina-inspired single, “She Had Me At Heads Carolina”) previously shared with iHeartCountry that his romantic ballad, “Forever To Me,” would serve as his wedding song. Swindell said on The Bobby Bones Show in 2021 that his first date with his now-wife was filming his “Some Habits” music video. He announced that he’d proposed in May 2023.
