Carly Pearce offered “a little health update,” after revealing she’d been diagnosed with a heart condition.

Pearce, 34, opened up about her health in late May. She posted a video to announce that she’d developed pericarditis, and would alter her upcoming performances “because I have to keep my heart rate under control right now. And that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna be completely fine, it just means right now I’ve gotta really take this seriously.” Mayo Clinic describes pericarditis as swelling and irritation of the tissue surrounding the heart.

The hummingbird artist posted a photo on Instagram on Sunday (June 23) with another health update. She said “it’s been a month since this crazy heart stuff happened,” and she wanted to share five things she’s learned since then, including: “you don’t have to over exercise every single day to feel good,” “medication sucks,” “walking is a great form of mental & physical exercise,” “mindset is everything,” “change is hard but can be a really good thing.”

“For those of you asking- I’m getting better every day & feeling more like myself!” Pearce said. “I’ll be running around like my usual self before you know it 😊❤️ thanks for all of the prayers. I have felt them every single day.”

Pearce — who told Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show that she felt “crazy, crazy chest pain” when she discovered the heart issue — said when she opened up about her diagnosis that she’s “asking for a little bit of grace,” as she alters her live performances, including as she finishes the final run of shows on Tim McGraw’s headlining tour and events planned around her new album’s release. She also said, “more importantly, if any of you are dealing with any kind of health stuff, or aren’t — I’m a young, healthy person that really watches what I eat and exercises, and this happened to me — and so, I just wanna use my platform to tell you to take care of your body and listen to it. And just know that if it’s trying to tell you something, it’s gonna tell you.”
