Lainey Wilson debuted her newest ballad and music video on Thursday morning (June 20), fit for her forthcoming Whirlwind chapter.

The reigning Academy of Country Music Awards Entertainer of the Year released “Out of Oklahoma,” which appears on the star-studded Twisters album from the movie that premieres next month. Wilson said “it’s wild how life throws you a theme,” noting that “my life the past few years has felt like a twister.” That’s what inspired the title of her highly-anticipated follow up to her Grammy Award-winning album, Bell Bottom Country.

Wilson said “when I got the opportunity to write a song for the new [Twisters movie], it was a challenge I couldn’t pass up. Reading Kate’s story, I found a lot of parallels between our lives. We’re both chasing wild and crazy careers, but they make us feel something and give us a sense of home.”

Daisy Edgar-Jones plays Kate Cooper in the upcoming movie, which also stars Glen Powell (Tyler Owens), and others. The Lee Isaac Chung-directed film serves as “an update to the 1996 film 'Twister', which centered on a pair of storm chasers who risk their lives in an attempt to test an experimental weather alert system,” reads its description on IMDb. More Ethan two dozen tracks appear on Twisters: The Album.

The first single to release from the album was Luke Combs’ “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma.” That anthem has since been followed by Megan Moroney’s “Never Left Me,” Bailey Zimmerman’s “Hell or High Water,” Tucker Wetmore’s “Already Had It” and Tanner Adell’s “Too Easy.” Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Jelly Roll, Kane Brown, Shania Twain, BRELAND and others also appear on the album.

Twisters — both the movie and the album — will release on July 19.

Wilson said on Thursday to “get ready to hear my whirlwind story” on August 23, when her album makes its debut. She announced the 14-track collection in May, and said at that time that Whirlwind “has been a long time coming and I can’t wait for the world to have this body of work in their hands soon. This new chapter of music is the most cathartic and personal piece of art I’ve ever made. I hope this record brings some peace to your whirlwind and wraps its arms around you like it did for me.”
