Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for a temporary restraining order and accused his estranged wife, FIREROSE, of spending nearly $97,000 in “unauthorized” charges on his credit card. The filing arrives shortly after he filed for divorce less than one year into their marriage.
Cyrus sought the temporary restraining order in a motion filed on Thursday (June 13) in Tennessee, PEOPLE reported after obtaining the emergency court filing. Cyrus’ affidavit reads that he is “concerned that Ms. Hodges [FIREROSE, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges] is in possession of other information that she may use to make fraudulent, unauthorized charges to my business and personal credit cards and accounts,” alleging she spent $96,986 since May 23, one day after he filed for divorce. He states that he and FIREROSE do not have any shared accounts, and wants anything she purchased using his accounts to be returned. FIREROSE, however, said via her attorneys that she has had access to her estranged husband’s card for approximately two years, and Cyrus “has no right to cut her off.”
Cyrus cited “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct” when he filed on May 22. He is alleging fraud and seeking an annulment. Cyrus announced in late 2022 that he and FIREROSE, his “soulmate,” were engaged, confirming speculation after she was seen wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring on Instagram. They initially met more than a decade ago, while Cyrus was working on the set of Hannah Montana, starring daughter Miley Cyrus. Cyrus and FIREROSE got married on October 10, 2023, and shared wedding photos on Instagram the following day. The couple has since appeared to unfollow one another on the social media platform. Cyrus previously said the wedding day was a “beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony,” and called FIREROSE the “beautiful love of my life.”
