HARDY Delivers Emotional Tribute To His Wife Caleigh

On Friday (June 7), HARDY debuted the song he wrote for his wife, Caleigh Hardy, inspired by a moment they shared together in the weeks after he was involved in a tour bus accident that resulted in “significant injuries.”

HARDY wrote “Six Feet Under (Caleigh’s Song)” with a “powerful moment” in mind. When he and Caleigh got married in October 2022, only a few weeks after his bus accident, the bride and groom privately exchanged their vows before the wedding ceremony. HARDY said when he recently teased the song that it was “an emotional time,” and “sharing those vows privately with Caleigh was the single greatest moment of my life.” He sings that after the accident, he wasn’t scared of death. Instead, he was afraid he’d never see Caleigh again.

Caleigh previously said she “had a full blown meltdown” the first time HARDY, whose full name is Michael Hardy, played the song for her. She said “Six Feet Under (Caleigh’s Song)” “means the absolute world to me. Michael and I cherish that moment on our wedding day more than anything and everything, so to hear those feelings and emotions written in a song is truly an inexplicable feeling.”

HARDY’s newest song follows “Quit!!,” “Rockstar,” “Psycho” and “Jim Bob” from his upcoming, 13-track album, Quit!!. He recently kicked off his headlining tour by the same name. The inspiration for the album’s tile and the autobiographical, spoken-word title track stems from a moment nearly a decade ago. HARDY previously shared a throwback clip to the moment he accepted his Songwriter of the Year award at the 15th Annual ACM Honors on stage at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. He said on stage during the 2022 event: “In 2015, I was playing a songwriter round with a tip jar on the front of the stage. Nobody played on that stage that night had a hit. We just played original songs, and we might’ve made $10 in tips. But one person wrote ‘QUIT’ on a napkin, and they put it in that tip jar. And tonight, that ‘QUIT’ napkin will be sitting right beside this (expletive).”

HARDY’s album, Quit!!, is set to release on July 12. Listen to “Six Feet Under (Caleigh’s Song)” here:
