Morgan Wallen’s This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen has a new opening date.
The six-story venue, which is approximately 30,000 square feet, will now open its doors at 11 a.m. on Saturday (June 1), per a press release issued on Friday (May 31). It’s located at 107 4th Avenue North, adjacent to the historic Ryman Auditorium in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. This Bar's new opening date arrives shortly before CMA Fest, hailed the longest-running country festival in the world. The star-studded event will feature performances by hundreds of artists across several stages from June 6 through June 9.
“We’re thrilled to welcome our first guests on Saturday, June 1, to This Bar leading into CMA Fest,” Grant Burlingame, vice president of operations at TC Restaurant Group, said in a statement. “This venue has been a labor of love for us and Morgan. His fans and music lovers alike will love the experiences they will find at This Bar. We’re proud to open its doors.”
Wallen announced earlier this year that he’d team up with TC Restaurant Group to open This Bar, serving as a nod to his East Tennessee hometown. Adam Hesler, President at TC Restaurant Group, hailed Wallen “one of the most sought after stars in the music industry” in the press release issued Friday.
Wallen initially revealed This Bar’s opening date during one of the shows in his three-night run at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. At that time, he said This Bar would open on Memorial Day weekend; however, its opening date was delayed days after Metro Nashville Council members voted against a resolution to approve a sign for the bar. Thirty council members voted “no,” three voted “yes” and four abstained. Officials cited Wallen’s’ past controversial behaviors — including his pending charges for allegedly throwing a chair from the six-story rooftop of Eric Church’s bar — when they voted it down.
This Bar joins previously-opened honky tonks by country artists on Nashville’s Lower Broadway, including Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan and others. Lainey Wilson opened her new bar on Friday.
“I sing about finding myself in 'this bar' and now it's coming to life. This venue will hold true to everything I love and is inspired by my fans and the way they have embraced me and my music,” Wallen previously said in a statement. “We're designing a menu around some of my family favorites, so it brings a piece of East Tennessee to Music City. I hope This Bar is a place you'll want to find yourself in and make memories with your friends and family and celebrate the way country music has brought us all together.”
