Carly Pearce is opening up about her healing journey after divorce.
The award-winning country star is counting down the days to the release of her highly-anticipated hummingbird album. The 14-track record will arrive on June 7. It follows Pearceās powerful 2021 project, 29: Written in Stone, which delved into her story of heartache and moving forward after getting married and divorced at age 29. Now 34, Pearce responded to a TikToker who recently asked other social media users about the drama going on in their lives.
Pearce introduced herself as a country artist who released 29: Written in Stone a few years ago, ātaking you through my year that I got married and divorced at age 29,ā with tracks like āDiamondback,ā āWhat He Didnāt Do,ā āEasy Going,ā āNext Girl,ā ā29,ā āNever Wanted To Be That Girlā with Ashley McBryde and more. Since then, āso much life has happened and Iāve been working really hard on my new album, āhummingbird,ā coming out June 7.
āIt kind of takes you on a healing journey, and I think all of us would say that when you go through something really hard, it takes a lot of therapy, it takes a lot of dealing and wrestling with your emotions,ā Pearce said on TikTok. āI take you through what my journey has been like.ā
Pearce added that a hummingbird is a signal of the healing process and indicates that good luck is on the way. She said sheās ādone a lot of work, and just because Iām not where I wanna be fully, or maybe my story looks different than somebody elseās my age, doesnāt mean that Iām not exactly where Iām supposed to be and that Iām not happy.ā
Pearce, who is currently on tour withĀ Tim McGraw, bumped up hummingbirdās release date by one week to celebrate her 34th birthday last month. She said at that time that ā7 is my favorite number and itās right before CMA Fest,ā where sheāll take the main stage at Nissan Stadium in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Thatās also the weekend sheās offering up some of her wardrobe pieces during her third annual Carlyās Closet event.
So far, Pearce has released the autobiographical anthem ācountry music made me do it,ā āheels over head,ā āmy place,ā āfault line,ā āhummingbirdā and āwe donāt fight anymoreā featuring Chris Stapleton, which won the 2024 CMT Music Award in the Collaborative Video of the Year category. She shred a sneak peek of āwoman to womanā during an Instagram Live video on her birthday.
āThe last few years have been a season of loss and growth, of healing and happiness. A belief that if I did the inner work, I would rebuild myself stronger than I was before, and a knowing that I have done some living and will always be unapologetic about it,ā PearceĀ said as originally announcedĀ hummingbirdĀ on March 1. āThese 14 songs incapsulate my confidence that there is light on the other side of darkness and my true love of country music.
āWhen you hear this album ā Wherever you are on your journey, I hope it shows you that pain can be a lesson that shows you just how strong you are and what you truly deserve,ā she continued. āThat we can all find the āhummingbirdā in the midst of whatever weāre going through.ā
