How Carly Pearce Will Reveal More Of Her Healing Journey After Divorce

Carly Pearce is opening up about her healing journey after divorce.

The award-winning country star is counting down the days to the release of her highly-anticipated hummingbird album. The 14-track record will arrive on June 7. It follows Pearce’s powerful 2021 project, 29: Written in Stone, which delved into her story of heartache and moving forward after getting married and divorced at age 29. Now 34, Pearce responded to a TikToker who recently asked other social media users about the drama going on in their lives.

Pearce introduced herself as a country artist who released 29: Written in Stone a few years ago, “taking you through my year that I got married and divorced at age 29,” with tracks like “Diamondback,” “What He Didn’t Do,” “Easy Going,” “Next Girl,” “29,” “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” with Ashley McBryde and more. Since then, “so much life has happened and I’ve been working really hard on my new album, ‘hummingbird,’ coming out June 7.

“It kind of takes you on a healing journey, and I think all of us would say that when you go through something really hard, it takes a lot of therapy, it takes a lot of dealing and wrestling with your emotions,” Pearce said on TikTok. “I take you through what my journey has been like.”

Pearce added that a hummingbird is a signal of the healing process and indicates that good luck is on the way. She said she’s “done a lot of work, and just because I’m not where I wanna be fully, or maybe my story looks different than somebody else’s my age, doesn’t mean that I’m not exactly where I’m supposed to be and that I’m not happy.”

Pearce, who is currently on tour with Tim McGraw, bumped up hummingbird’s release date by one week to celebrate her 34th birthday last month. She said at that time that “7 is my favorite number and it’s right before CMA Fest,” where she’ll take the main stage at Nissan Stadium in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. That’s also the weekend she’s offering up some of her wardrobe pieces during her third annual Carly’s Closet event.

So far, Pearce has released the autobiographical anthem “country music made me do it,” “heels over head,” “my place,” “fault line,” “hummingbird” and “we don’t fight anymore” featuring Chris Stapleton, which won the 2024 CMT Music Award in the Collaborative Video of the Year category. She shred a sneak peek of “woman to woman” during an Instagram Live video on her birthday.

“The last few years have been a season of loss and growth, of healing and happiness. A belief that if I did the inner work, I would rebuild myself stronger than I was before, and a knowing that I have done some living and will always be unapologetic about it,” Pearce said as originally announced hummingbird on March 1. “These 14 songs incapsulate my confidence that there is light on the other side of darkness and my true love of country music.

“When you hear this album — Wherever you are on your journey, I hope it shows you that pain can be a lesson that shows you just how strong you are and what you truly deserve,” she continued. “That we can all find the ‘hummingbird’ in the midst of whatever we’re going through.”
