Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman had a “date night” at the 2024 Met Gala on Monday evening (May 6).
The beloved husband-and-wife duo arrived color-coordinated in stunning black-and-white looks on the red carpet, including Kidman’s flowing gown with matching white opera gloves. The award-winning actress re-created an iconic Cristobal Balenciaga couture gown from the 1960s. She told Vogue: “The Met Gala’s ‘The Garden of Time’ theme is so beautiful, I think I just fell in love with the idea of kissing a Balenciaga couture gown awake. …The black and white gown was immortalized by the great [Richard Avedon for Harper’s Bazaar in 1951] in a photo we discovered. I was planning to work with Richard Avedon, but due to timing, sadly never got the chance.”
The couple’s “date night” arrives shortly after Kidman received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, which she and Urban attended with their teenaged daughters (Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban, 15, and Faith Margaret Kidman-Urban,13). It also arrives days after Urban took the stage at the 2024 iHeartCountry Festival in Austin, Texas. The country hitmaker performed career-spanning hits and his newest singles as he prepares to debut his next full-length studio album, including “Straight Line,” “One Too Many” (featuring Maggie Baugh in P!nk’s absence), “Somebody Like You” and others. Urban announced a 10-night run in Las Vegas on Monday morning, hours before accompanying his wife to the Met Gala.
