Dan + Shay marked a major milestone on Monday (April 1).

The award-winning duo released their debut studio album 10 years ago today, they shared in a post on Monday morning. Dan + Shay — Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney — released the 12-track album, Where It All Began, featuring “19 You + Me,” “Nothin’ Like You,” and other fan-favorites throughout the collection. Smyers and Mooney remembered their debut record as a life-changing moment when they shared a reflection on Instagram:

“Our debut album, Where It All Began, was released 10 years ago today. ’19 You + Me’ was the first single we sent to country radio and it changed our lives forever. We moved to Nashville to chase a dream we’ve had since we were kids, and y’all have made it come true for us time-and-time again. This album is a collection of songs that capture the magic of our early friendship, that happily we feel more strongly than ever today. We didn’t set out to sound like anyone or anything, but the sound that you hear became what we all now know as ‘Dan + Shay.’ Thank you for absolutely everything, this has been the greatest 10 years of our lives, and we can’t wait for the next 10. ❤️”

“Thank y’all for the memories 🥹,” Smyers added in the comments, and his wife, Abby Smyers, wrote, “What a ride! 🎢”

Most recently, Dan + Shay released Bigger Houses, a 12-track project that made its debut in September 2023. Smyers and Mooney, who revealed they nearly quit music after undergoing intense burnout, kicked off their “Heartbreak On The Map Tour” earlier this year. The ongoing trek is titled after one of the tracks on the album, along with “Save Me The Trouble,” “Always Gonna Be,” “Heaven + Back,” “We Should Get Married” and more. The first-time coaching duo on The Voice is also known for “You,” “Tequila,” “10,000 Hours,” “Glad You Exist,” “Speechless,” and other career-spanning hits. Find Dan + Shay on iHeartRadio here.
