Miranda Lambert “had a Velvet Rodeo first.” The award-winning singer-songwriter helped with her best friend’s gender reveal during one of her recent Las Vegas residency performances.
Lambert told the crowd that her “bestie” and personal assistant of nearly 10 years, Cameron, was sitting in the audience at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. “She’s pregnant and her baby daddy is right here,” Lambert said as she gestured toward Cameron and bandmate Danny, who was on stage at the time.
“We’ve been waiting for a long time to reveal the gender at this show,” Lambert said. She opted to reveal the gender during her performance of “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home),” her hit collaboration with Elle King, because it’s “on brand for our white trash a**es.” Lambert explained to the cheering crowd that at the end of the song, either blue or pink confetti would reveal the gender of her bestie’s baby. “It’s a baby girl, y’all!” Lambert exclaimed at the end of the video.
The video also captured the mother-to-be’s reaction as pink confetti burst into the air and the crowd applauded. Lambert previously shared that it’s”bittersweet” to wrap up her Las Vegas residency. Velvet Rodeo opened in September 2022. The final performance is set for April 6.
