Luke Combs confirmed he’s back in the studio recording new music.

The award-winning country megastar posted a few photos on Instagram on Wednesday night (January 24), though he didn’t confirm exactly when he’d release the music he’s working on now. Combs simply wrote in his caption: “Good to be back in the studio today…”

Combs’ latest full-length project is Gettin’ Old, an 18-track album with “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old,” “Hannah Ford Road,” “Where The Wild Things Are,” “Love You Anyway,” his award-winning cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” and other highlights. The album is a coming-of-age follow-up to Growin’ Up, a 12-track record that released in June 2022. The first installment included “Doin’ This,” “The Kind of Love We Make,” “Outrunnin’ Your Memory” with Miranda Lambert, “Going, Going, Gone” and more.

Combs previously shared that the two-part installment captures “the stage of life I’m in right now. It’s about coming of age, loving where life is now but at the same time missing how it used to be, continuing to fall for the one you love and loving them no matter what, living in the moment but still wondering how much time you have left, family, friends, being thankful, and leaving a legacy.

“Sometimes when I listen to it — and someone will probably be upset that I say this, but I’m like, ‘man, am I like, super boring?’” Combs continued in a Q&A with iHeartRadio’s Wayne D during his Gettin’ Old album release party last year. Though he loves the songs on the album, “it’s like, I’m in bed by 10 o’clock because I got a kid now, so maybe it makes sense. I don’t know. It’s just where my songwriting went.”

Combs previously hinted at the direction of his songwriting when he shared an adorable sneak peek of a song about raising his two young sons. He and wife Nicole Combs welcomed firstborn son Tex Lawrence Combs on Father’s Day in June 2022, and son Beau Lee Combs followed in August 2023.
